AENOR health certificates are aimed at both public and private organisations: from health services or health ministries in all the autonomous communities to hospitals, clinics, haemodialysis centres, diagnostic imaging centres, laboratories or health transport companies, including opticians, pharmacies, dental clinics, and all types of centres that provide social and health services. such as residences, day/night centers, etc.

Some of the most relevant healthcare certifications are:

  • The certification of surveillance, prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections is carried out under the standard UNE 179006, the purpose of which is to establish minimum requirements that a management system must meet for the surveillance, prevention and control of infection associated with healthcare activity, in order to identify, and minimizing the risks of contracting and transmitting infections among patients, staff, and anyone else who comes to the hospital.

  • The certification of quality management systems for assisted human reproduction laboratories, in accordance with the standard UNE 179007, certifies the laboratories of the healthcare units in which activities related to gametes or pre-embryos are carried out for the purpose of assisted human reproduction, either for own use, for donation within the couple or outside the her.

  • The certification of risk management systems for patient safety aims to contribute through certification in accordance with the standard UNE 179003  to reduce the risks to which patients are subjected when they pass through the healthcare system, and to improve patient safety, a strategic objective shared by the entire sector. 

  • The quality certification of dental services operates under the standard UNE 179001 and defines the quality requirements for a dental centre or clinic, including aspects related to the organisation of the centre, facilities and equipment, the training and qualification of the professionals who work in it, or processes directly related to care health.

  • The certification of health services applies the standard UNE 15224, whose requirements exhaustively incorporate those of the standard ISO 9001:2015 with additional requirements, specifications and interpretations for health services. In addition, it also includes aspects related to clinical risk management in the planning, operation and control processes.

  • The certification of quality management systems for healthcare transport companies ensures compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard in the most critical processes of patient transport, and includes advice and recommendations, developed specifically for companies in the healthcare transport sector.
