Scope of application

This certification solution covers services that promote personal autonomy and serve people in a situation of dependency, through the following standards of the UNE 158000 family:

  • UNE 158201: Day and night centres.

The certification solution is aimed at organisations that provide social and health services, both in the public and private spheres, since it is the competent administration that grants the corresponding operating authorisation.

Benefits of Certification

The UNE 158000 family of standards constitutes a technical framework recognised by public administrations for the authorisation of the operation of social centres and services. By being certified under this scheme, it is possible to:

  • To guarantee a proven and systematic level of quality.

  • Facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements and administrative accreditation.

  • To improve the reputation and trust of users, families and contracting entities.

  • Promote continuous improvement through documented processes, audits, and performance evaluation.

Legal and accreditation requirements

In the Community of Madrid, Order 2680/2024, of 7 November, establishes the quality standards necessary for the accreditation of public or private social centres and services, linked to the framework of the social services law.

Likewise, the certification in accordance with the UNE 158000 series in the Autonomous Community of Madrid must be obtained under a scheme accredited by ENAC. In its "Accreditation scheme for certification bodies" for the UNE 158000 series, it is expressly indicated that the certifying bodies operating for this regulatory family must be accredited by ENAC and meet the specific requirements of the scheme.

This requirement reinforces transparency, impartiality and trust in the certification process, and connects with the international accreditation principles used by ENAC.

AENOR is currently in the process of accreditation by ENAC for the certification of management systems in accordance with the standards of the UNE 158000 family.
