Accessibility Statement
The AENOR website has been developed by adopting a series of measures with the aim of improving its accessibility, so that it can be navigated by the largest number of users regardless of their personal or technological limitations.
To achieve this, work has been carried out on the basis of the Priority 1 and Priority 2 requirements of the UNE 139803:2012 Standard Accessibility Requirements for content on the web, which corresponds to the AA (Double-A) level of conformance of the WCAG 2.0 international guidelines for Web Content Accessibility defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
A verification using semi-automatic tools and a manual audit of compliance with the requirements applicable to this Double-A level has been carried out, and we are currently working on resolving some identified problems.
Among the advantages that the implementation of accessibility techniques and criteria brings to website users are the following:
-
To facilitate access for users regardless of their abilities, environment, or technological infrastructure.
-
It facilitates access with different browsers (it displays correctly in the latest versions of the most common browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (except obsolete version 6), Netscape, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome).
-
The content is presented in a structured and clearer way, making it easier to interpret.
-
Improves navigation and user experience.
To this end, the following measures, among others, have been adopted:
-
Separation between content and presentation, using style sheets (CSS).
-
Textual alternatives are added to the non-textual content.
-
Content hierarchy, using the appropriate structural and semantic markup for the information and the relationships existing between the content.
-
Application of W3C standards.
-
Improved navigability, navigation menu visible on all pages, breadcrumb trail.
-
The text size is defined in relative units so that it can be enlarged or reduced by the user. The text can be resized so that it can be read by people with visual impairments. Use CTRL+ or CTRL-
-
All pages of the website include the mechanism known as breadcrumbs, which indicate to the user the path followed to that page from the main page.
-
Acronyms and abbreviations have been identified.
-
All links are identified and provide details of the hyperlink's function or destination. The formats of downloadable files, such as PDFs, are also identified.
-
The user is notified when new windows open.
Exceptions
The content provided for further information in formats other than HTML, such as PDF, mostly lacks accessibility features. AENOR is committed to providing these documents in accessible formats upon request.
