Maintenance status inspections

Workplace safety is one of the pillars of corporate sustainability.

Inspections of the maintenance status, safety and occupational health for facilities, equipment and works

AENOR helps you guarantee the maintenance and safety status of equipment, facilities, and works, etc., along with the rest of the services linked to risk prevention.

Technical inspection of shelving

These storage systems are considered work equipment and, as such, fall under the relevant legislation and regulations. Companies must take the necessary measures to ensure that, through proper maintenance, the racking maintains satisfactory safety conditions throughout its useful life.

AENOR carries out the Technical Inspection of Storage Systems in accordance with the European Standard EN 15635 and the National Standard UNE 58018 which include the inspection requirements for this equipment.

These regulations establish the need for annual inspections by an external expert to detect impact damage to uprights and beams caused by handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) during loading and unloading operations, damage that is not always visible. The inspections also include checking the condition and effectiveness of all components, the state of the floor, the position of loads, and other relevant aspects.

Additional services can be offered such as the preparation of nameplates to determine maximum loads, layout design and training of Storage Equipment Safety Managers (SEMs) that complete the needs of clients in this area.

Inspection of machinery and work equipment

The inspection of work equipment is regulated in Spain by Royal Decree 1215/1997, of July 18, which establishes the minimum safety and health provisions for the use by workers of work equipment, understood as such, any machine, apparatus or instrument used at work.

The AENOR report or certificate can be requested at any time by the Labor Inspectorate from the owner of the installation.
