What is certification?

It is a process that evaluates and verifies the conformity of products, services or systems with specific norms and standards, ensuring quality and reliability.

Certification is the process carried out by an entity recognized as independent of the interested parties, through which the conformity of a certain company, product, process, service or person with the requirements defined in standards or technical specifications is manifested. Certification is aimed at any type of company, regardless of its size, location or area of activity, and not necessarily large companies, being more useful even for small and medium-sized companies with less recognition in the market and whose need to generate trust in their stakeholders is, if possible, greater. In some cases it is an essential requirement to be able to sell, either for legal considerations, or because buyers of the product always request it, the truth is that it is a voluntary process.

Certification Process

The certification is the recognition of teamwork, the effort of organizations and companies. It is the well-deserved reward for those companies that decide to start the path of certification and improve their organizational processes and competitive capacity. Do you want to know what are the necessary steps to achieve it?

SERVICES: What does the certification consist of?

It is the term that is most colloquially used to refer to what is technically called "conformity assessment". Conformity assessment is any assessment carried out to determine whether a product, process or management system meets specific requirements. Beyond certification, there are other types of evaluations that establish conformity or attest or veracity of something, in its most general sense.

Involves checking the conformity of products according to national standards or their international equivalent. At the same time, it encourages importers and exporters to understand the need for compliance and its advantages.

It is the action aimed at an organization that wishes to show responsibility by ensuring that its equipment, products and services comply with quality, safety, respect for the environment and imperative social responsibilities (whether mandatory, voluntary or its own, based on its own systems, standards or needs). Conformity assessment often requires type, surveillance or self-monitoring tests on products that are subject to some form of certification. Using the most advanced analytical methodologies, physicochemical, microbiological and sensory analyses are carried out on food products or cosmetics, hygiene and detergency products, among others.

SECTORS THAT ARE CERTIFIED

Generically, there are a series of horizontal evaluations applicable to any type of organization, regardless of its sector of activity, size, etc. Such is the case of the certification of the ISO 9001 quality management system, or the ISO 14001 environmental system, etc.

In turn, the different sectors of activity have been developing standards of specific application to their field of action, in response to the demands demanded by each sector. We are talking about sectors as important for our economy as the food, energy, building and civil works sectors, transport and logistics, health and social services...

Its most important advantage is facilitating access to markets. In some cases, it not only facilitates the sale operation, but it is an essential requirement to be able to enter certain markets, either for legal considerations, or because buyers of the product always request it.
