ISO 25000: Software Quality Certification
The ISO 25000 certification evaluates the quality of the software, ensuring maintainability and functionality, improving competitiveness and facilitating access to international markets
Software with certified quality
The standards of the ISO/IEC 25000 family , known as SQuaRE (Software Product Quality Requirements and Evaluation) create a common framework for evaluating the quality of the software product.
The certification of the quality of the software product with ISO/IEC 25000 allows companies that develop software to know the quality of their products and companies that buy software, to decide on one solution or another depending on their needs.
To carry out this certification, AENOR relies on AQC Lab, the first laboratory in Spain accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) to carry out quality assessment tests for software applications under the ISO/IEC25000 family of standards focused on maintainability and functional adequacy (functionality). AENOR assesses the laboratory's report with regard to the quality of the software product in question and, if this assessment is satisfactory, a check is carried out on the viability, in situ or online, of the resources and technical capabilities of the company that has created the software product. Once this process has been completed, AENOR issues a certificate of conformity with respect to the ISO/IEC 25000 Standard.
Benefits of software certification:
-
Differentiate yourself from competitors, ensuring delivery times and reduction of product failures after its implementation in production.
-
To be able to establish service level agreements, defining certain quality parameters that the product must meet before being delivered.
-
Detect defects in the software product and proceed to their elimination before delivery, which means cost savings in the subsequent maintenance phase.
-
Evaluate and control the performance of the developed software product, ensuring that it will be able to generate the results taking into account the established time and resource constraints.
-
Ensure that the software product developed respects the necessary levels for security characteristics (confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, non-repudiation, etc.).
-
Check that the developed product can be put into production without compromising the rest of the systems and maintaining compatibility with the necessary interfaces.

-
Public Administration bodies, which both at the state and regional or local level, increasingly outsource software development to other companies or software factories, and that need to have a quality control that allows them to verify that the software they receive meets the minimum quality requirements required and also to be able to adequately manage the service level agreements agreed with suppliers.
-
Software companies that outsource, either under the nearshoring method or under the offshoring method, part of their software development processes, and that must also continuously control the quality of the software they receive.
-
Factories and software development companies that are interested in having a mechanism that allows them to ensure the quality of the software they manufacture.

Factories and software development companies that are interested in assuring their customers, through independent verification and validation, of the quality of the products they are delivering.
