Healthy Organization Certification

The Healthy Company certification promotes the comprehensive well-being of employees through health, safety and healthy habit policies, improving the quality of work life

Keys to AENOR's new SIGOS scheme

The Luxembourg Declaration and the publication by the World Health Organization of the document "Healthy Work Environments: WHO Foundations and Model" in 2010, were the precedents for initiating a path towards excellence in health, safety and well-being at work through continuous improvement in the management of the four avenues of influence for a healthy work environment established by the WHO; that is, physical work environment, psychosocial work environment, personal resources at work and participation of the company in the community.

Within this framework, AENOR published the first Healthy Business Management System in 2012 and there are already more than 1,000 centres in Spain and various countries that have opted for this certification.

However, AENOR's new HEALTHY ORGANISATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ( SIGOS) has recently been published, a tool that replaces the previous HEALTHY COMPANY MODEL (SIGES) and will help companies to organise and value all those initiatives they are carrying out in relation to occupational safety, health promotion, sustainability and responsible commitment to the community where they are located, demonstrating their commitment to continuous improvement.

For all these reasons, AENOR has carried out a process of transformation of the Healthy Company Model to adapt it to this cultural trend. In this new model, organizations will find an easier tool for its application and integration, and highly effective in the management of safe, healthy, sustainable and committed companies, regardless of their size, sector and geographical location.
