Certification in Tolerance Management in Educational Centres: UNE 0071
The Tolerance Management Certification in educational centers, based on UNE 0071, to prevent discrimination and promote equality and inclusion in the school environment
A commitment to tolerance and equality in education to detect and prevent discrimination and violence in schools.
Strengthening the value of tolerance in education
This is a solution framed in the "Promoting Tolerance" Trust Platform that reinforces the AENOR catalogue of solutions, responding to the concerns of educational centres, in particular, and society, in general. In this way, we contribute to generating an appropriate environment through the management of tolerance in schools for inclusive and equitable education, thus promoting equal opportunities for students, regardless of personal, social and economic factors, responding to the motto of the 2030 Agenda: "Leave no one behind".
The main objective of the certification is to recognize the organization's ability to meet the tolerance requirements that both legislation and society, increasingly multicultural and diverse, demand, in a context where the reality of classrooms and educational centers show clear manifestations of intolerance, such as recurrent cases of bullying
This solution is based on Specification UNE 0071 Tolerance management system in non-university educational centres. Requirements and guidance for its use on which the Model developed by AENOR is based, which provides guidance the continuous improvement of the management that the centres carry out of values such as tolerance, equity, equality and inclusion.
UNE 0071: Promoting Tolerance and Inclusion in Educational Centres
UNE 0071 establishes guidelines for the management of tolerance in schools, promoting equality and inclusion, and preventing discrimination to create a safe and respectful school environment
Benefits:
-
To support organisations in monitoring alignment with the requirements of the AENOR model and to have a reporting tool in relation to their actions within the framework of the Strategic Plan for School Coexistence of the Ministry of Education.
-
To contribute to transparency in the management of tolerance in the life of the school by generating confidence among stakeholders, such as the educational community, active agents with important participation in the creation of educational environments free of violence.
-
Facilitate having a certification to be able to access public procurement processes, subsidies, fundraising for investment, donations...
-
To add value to position the organization in its contribution to the 2030 Agenda by contributing to:
SDG 4: Quality education
SDG 5: Gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.
Therefore, this Certification solution is geared towards recognizing and valuing those educational centers that want to achieve a greater commitment to the entire educational community and other stakeholders, contributing prosocial values (cooperation, altruism, empathy, care, that is, those that lead to acting for the benefit of others and not oneself), becoming a pillar on which to build and strengthen any equitable and democratic society.
As stated in the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance (Paris 1995) of the UNESCO, Tolerance consists of the harmony of difference, with education being the most effective means to achieve it. Education is the true tool for preventing any manifestation of intolerance, and therefore, discrimination and bullying.
