Beta Milk Casein A2 Certification
This certification guarantees that the product has been obtained naturally and with only beta casein A2, which promotes digestion.
Milk proteins: beta casein
Milk is an important source of protein, among which are beta caseins. Depending on the genetics of the cows that produce the milk, these proteins can be of two types: A1 or A2.
Beta casein A2
Milk with beta casein A2 proteins comes from cows that, due to their genetics, only produce this type of protein. Studies have shown that A2 beta casein confers better digestibility to milk and milk products containing it.
To offer the consumer a differentiated product, it is necessary to carry out a natural selection of the animals on the farm and ensure that the milk that arrives at the point of sale is only beta casein A2.
The Beta Casein Milk A2 certification guarantees that the product has been obtained naturally on the farm as well as its traceability to the point of sale throughout the supply chain. In the case of dairy products made from milk with this certification, they may use the mark "Made with Beta Casein A2 Milk". Thanks to this certification, the consumer has access to a set of products of excellent quality, easy digestion and complete traceability to origin.
During the audit process, the audit team is responsible for thoroughly assessing the conformity of the aspects defined in the regulation. Among them, the correct process of selection of the cattle and the performance of genetic analyses are verified, ensuring that the milk produced is of type A2. The evaluations include taking samples of the milk for laboratory analysis, in order to confirm if it is 100% Beta Casein A2 milk.
