International certifications

AENOR supports organizations in their internationalization strategy by backing their industrial product certifications. To ensure global recognition, AENOR complements its brands, such as the N Mark, with European trademarks, certificates, and international certifications based on global standards.

European certificates for each sector

For the electrical sector, AENOR issues the European Marks ENEC, ENEC+, and HAR. It also issues documents for the recognition of electrical tests at the European and international levels, using the NTR notification or the CB procedure.

In the construction sector, AENOR issues the Keymark, the CEN/CENELEC conformity mark for solar thermal collectors and systems, thermal insulation, and thermostatic radiator valves, in compliance with European standards. Furthermore, environmental product declarations for construction products verified by AENOR under its GlobalEPD Program are eligible for the European ECO Platform EPD EN 15804 VERIFIED™ mark.

Other European and international brands

AENOR supports industry in its needs for specific international brands and certifications to access markets or enhance the value of its products. To this end, depending on the client's requirements, it develops new certification schemes or collaborates with other organizations to obtain national brands or approvals.

The CENELEC Certification Agreement (CCA) facilitates obtaining Conformity Marks from certification bodies in different European countries based on the recognition of tests with electrical materials and factory inspections.

CENELEC (CCA, CENELEC Certification Agreement) is a European agreement for mutual recognition among signatory certification bodies of recognized prestige for obtaining their Conformity Marks. Within these agreements, all electrical products are tested in accordance with European Standards (EN) or harmonisation documents (HD).

On the other hand, the Notification of Test Results, known as NTR, is a notification issued by an organization that is a signatory to the CENELEC Certification Agreement (CCA) after having granted its mark.

AENOR has been appointed by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GSO) Standards Body to carry out the conformity assessment process in accordance with the Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances (BD-142004-01). This regulation establishes the mandatory requirements for safety and electromagnetic compatibility that this equipment must meet before being placed on the market in the Gulf countries.

The Gulf Mark (G Mark) aims to establish a single market, allowing the free movement of these products in the member countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), made up of: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

The Keymark is a quality mark owned by CEN and CENELEC that demonstrates a product or service's conformity with a European EN standard. It is a European-focused mark whose objective is recognition among EU countries to avoid repeated testing and inspections, thus facilitating certified quality for European industry.

AENOR collaborates with Keymark in certifying solar thermal collectors and systems, thermal insulation, and thermostatic radiator valves. Their challenge is to achieve complete harmonization of the inspection, testing, and certification processes for all their operators. For this reason, special committees or groups are created for each product or product family, which meet annually to exchange experience and update regulations.
