Innovative SME Certification

The Innovative SME certification grants tax advantages and access to public contracts, boosting the competitiveness and growth of companies

Automatic access to the Innovative SME Registry

The AENOR certification gives automatic access to the Public Register of Innovative SMEs (under the Directorate General for Innovation and Competitiveness, of the Ministry of Economy and Business); this register makes it possible for the first time to make compatible for the same research staff the 40% discount on business contributions to Social Security contributions with the deduction of up to 42% of R+D+i expenditure on the Corporate Income Tax.

The Innovative SME certificate of conformity is based on the AENOR EA 0047 specification, which establishes the requirements for an SME to be considered as innovative.

Companies must comply with a minimum of 400 points based on the 27 indicators described in the standard, distributed in the areas of human resources, economic-financial resources, way of innovating, organization of the results of the process or generation of employment in R+D+i.

These indicators also allow companies to identify their strengths and weaknesses to improve their performance in the different management areas and to know, through self-assessment, whether they can achieve the minimum score of 400 points necessary to obtain the Innovative SME certificate.
