Resumen:
The document specifies an HPLC method for the determination of saxitoxin and dicarbamoylsaxitoxn in mussels with pre column derivatization. Saxitoxin and DC-saxitoxin are strongly neuro-toxic substances produced by algae which are accumulated in mussels and which are harmful for the human body. In order to ensure the consumer's health, it is necessary to analyse the amount of saxitoxin and DC-saxitoxin in mussels and to check whether the regulation 91/472 is fulfilled.
