This is the consolidated version of EN 13414-1:2003 and includes the amendments A1:2005 and A2:2008. This European Standard specifies the construction requirements, methods of rating, testing and certification of wire rope slings. It covers single-, two-, three-, four-legged and endless wire rope slings, made from: 6- and 8-strand ordinary lay steel wire rope from 8 mm to 60 mm diameter with ferrule secured eye terminations or spliced eye terminations. The hazards covered by this standard are identified in clause 4. Guidance on the information to be provided with an enquiry or order is given in annex A.
