This document specifies the safety requirements and test methods for child safety barriers for domestic indoor use which are designed to be fitted across openings to limit a child's access inside the home and to prevent young children up to 24 months of age passing through. It does not apply to products designed to be fitted across windows. This document is prepared by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 252 "Child use and care articles", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German Body involved is the DIN Timber and Furniture Standards Committee (NHM), Working Committee NA 042-05-13 AA, mirror committee to CEN/TC 207/WG 2, CEN/TC 364, ISO/TC 136/WG 6.
